it sounds like a visual migraine, I get them. Also known as scintillating scotoma. If you google that, and look at images, see if it looks like any of those.

I googled it and that's exactly what I have.

On the last 2 times I took 2 aspirin and it went away in about 5 minutes each time.

Is there a known cure ??

Mine usually takes about 15-20 minutes to resolve. It starts near the center of my field of vision and works its way to the outside. Never tried aspirin.

It is caused by the same thing that causes migraine headaches. I just feel grateful that I don't get the headaches. There's no rhyme or reason to when I get them.

Last I heard, there is no cure for scintillating scotoma. I've had it most of my life, don't get headaches with it, and it usually disappears within a half hour or so. I don't take anything for it.

I've had this happen a couple of times. It freaked me out when it first occurred, but later I learned that it isn't harmful. I don't take anything when it happens, and it goes away on its own after a short time. I just hope it doesn't ever happen when I'm driving, because it really obstructs my vision temporarily.

They are not harmful, BUT the symptoms can be similar to retinal detachment or macular degeneration, so you have to be careful since you need to get care ASAP if you are experiencing retinal detachment. Macular degeneration tends to be more slow and you’d probably have some sort of diagnosis of early degeneration, but I know when I was getting those symptoms I ended up going to the eye doctor just to be sure since I am at high risk of both.
