My husband does this! Works great for him. He learned this from his Scottish/Irish father.

Peppermint for heartburn.

Oh, a lemon is good for a wasp sting too. Cut a cold lemon in half and put it over the sting, leave it on for an hour or so, or until it doesn't hurt anymore.

Ugh! I wish I had known that trick back then... how clever.

Me too.

I have creaky joints and get mucho relief from pain and inflammation with caffeine use. And if I do a caffeine fast for a couple of days............yikes, I get flare ups.

Doing nothing for a wasp sting, for a half hour or until it doesn't hurt anymore, will do exactly the same thing as applying a lemon wedge.

However, a dab of ammonia will neutralize the venom. It'll hurt like nobody's business, but the pain will die down after a little while (around 20 minutes to half an hour, just like always), and you'll feel less itching than if you hadn't used ammonia.

For mild headaches that aren't threatening to turn into migraines:
a drop of peppermint oil (or natural peppermint flavoring if you don't have essential oils in the house) rubbed into the temples - the area slightly up, and around an inch away, from your eyes near the hairline.

Sounds more like you're probably dehydrated and the milk is helping that way.

I bet you all have never heard this one before: when I'm tired, sleep works. I know... strange, huh? But try it sometime, it really does make you feel rested and happy again.

The problem is - falling asleep. Especially when you have a husband that snores so loud the pillows vibrate.

Jamba Juice Coldbuster..

Ok, I guess it's supposed to be a drink that works like cold medicine.. but it's worked so well compared to what most people expected..

One time, I had a really bad cold with fever, severe sore throat, and constant coughing. I ordered a Coldbuster 2 days in a row and my cold was gone the 3rd day.

It doesn't always prevent the spread of colds though.. several times, I felt I've started to come down with something and ordered a Coldbuster.. I came down with a mild and brief cold for 2-3 days before getting well.. but the people around me weren't so lucky as they'd be coughing for a week.
