I completely stopped believing the veracity of Popular Mechanics articles after they published one showing relative heating costs using various fuels and the author didn't understand the over unity C.O.P. of heat pumps. So I was not surprised when this one started out as if masses of people were again getting buboes from the plague. Another once great magazine down the crapper.

Honestly I don't believe the diseases ever died. Maybe in the overall general population but I'm sure researchers and scientists still had samples for research and testing and studying. Of course the governments of the world may keep it as well for biological warfare even though bio weapons now are meant to instantly hit your nervous system for and immediate and fast death.
