Will go to his brother’s house when released for about a month before he can go home
Want to send some gift things— needed
What about the chest pillow you use for seatbelt padding?
Any suggestions for particular one?
Will they release him with drains? Our son had cancer of the bile ducts and he has several drains to deal with
Right clothing was always an issue
Any suggestions from those you had heart surgery about what were best additions to aid recovery???

Good friend had open heart surgery due to pacemaker removal. 2.5 weeks in the hospital, 1 week in rehab center, then home. Visiting nurse for 4 weeks, PT and OT services at home. No drains but the nurse would check the incision site, new bandage etc. For some people all of these numbers are longer, more time in hospital, more time in rehab etc. He had a heart pillow that was given to him in cardiac intensive care and he used that against his chest when he had to cough etc. I cant think of anything he needed. He went to the rehab center by ambulance and then home in a reg car. Nothing special was needed
Im sure your friend will do well since hes up and walking etc. Maybe call him and just chat. That can mean alot.
