For some time now I have been aware of this. Whenever i lie down on my right side for a rest or even at night, I almost immediately get anxious and fearful. When I get on my back or on my left side, it goes away. is there any physiological reason why this should be happening? like blood flow or heart blockage? I am 65 year old woman. I never can remember to ask my doctor when I see her.
Some kind of vertigo maybe, or other inner ear upset of some sort. Try and remember to call the doctor and ask to make an appointment for this specific thing, OR ask if she/he recommends that you see an ENT doctor instead. If it's vertigo, there are actually exercises you can do to adjust your sense of balance before bedtime.
I prefer sleeping on my left side or back . . .so I don't know if sleeping on my right side might produce anxiety because I don't "like" it - Did something happen to you as a child on your right side - was there some way your bed faced that made you sleep on your right side . . .were you abused? Just guessing . . . have no idea . . . What do you think the reason is?
I have heard that when you're having a heart attack that you feel an overwhelming sense of dread, so possibly you could be getting blocked when you lay like that. But hey, take that for what it's worth, b/c it ain't much--much better to ask the doc and if it concerns you, why not call?

I think that is good advice. Surely it is something physical going on.
Guess what? I had a heart attack but 4 years later. I have noticed the anxiety is not as bad since I got a stent put in. I doubt there is anything they could have done 4 years ago with such vague symptoms. I did talk to my doc and she said Don't lie on your right side. Duh!!!!
I have the Exact same thing! When I lie on my right side I almost immediately have a sense of dread. I've been aware of this for the past year. I have asked my massage therapist and looked up other information to see if it may be a heart issue. This sense of dread develops almost immediately. If I lie on my right side or my back it goes away. I'm a 50 year old woman. I have only been aware of this the past year.
