I know nothing about blood transfusions. am very worried about blood transfusion.
You can ask a trusted person, family or friends, to donate for you. You get their blood, no one else's. It's called directed donation. If course, they have to be compatible with you. I am thinking your worry is about diseases?

Dr thinks he has a prostate infection however he went to donate plasma today and his iron was 30 the lady that screened him was highly concerned hes never had iron that low. Your husband has anemia, which can be caused by many things, not just low iron. He needs to see his family doctor again and get a more complete blood count. It is something that should be tended to promptly but is not something that can be evaluated through an ER. He will get a big bill and just be told to see his doctor.
The endoscopy is to see if something inside the stomach or intestine is bleeding, since that is the most common way for men to become anemic.
Your husband should definitely have the procedure, and his doctor will be happy to answer any questions you have.
While it is true that the problem may be a cancer, it could also be one of many other things. It's normal to worry, but hang in there!
