What do you mean by regular check-ups? Her yearly doctor visit? How long has it been since she has been to the doctor? Been drinking? What does your friend think?

Thanks for the info of what you posted I told my neighbor friend that tonight when we were walking our dogs. She said a while back that the Docs were checking on that issue.

She goes frequently to the Docs for something if not for something else.

Anyways, she says things that aren't quite normal at times. Like when we were all at a concert at the park someone was yelling from the car at someone to greet them or something and this lady said "he threw up on the street". I don't think she's all there in my opinion.

I'd give her a beer, but hide the vodka. It sounds as though some sort of senile dementia is kicking in. God bless her. Maybe she'd enjoy a glass of wine with dinner. It might insure a good nights sleep. I wouldn't want to see her fall and hurt herself. Other than that, give her a drink once in a while.

I agree with your thinking. My mom had light strokes that caused behavioral changes like this and I think my father-in-law has had one recently too, as his behavior changed quite a bit. It is the loss of blood flow to the brain for a very short time that can cause mild dementia symptoms, or unusual behavior, unlike a major stroke that would cause more severe physical symptoms.
