I have only taken over the counter anti-inflammatories and think I really need something stronger for my chronic hip flexor issue.

Can anyone tell me what are those you may have taken that are by script and how much better or not they have worked.

Thanks!

It really varies from person to person. Years ago, a doctor prescribed an anti-inflammatory called Vioxx for my husband. It didn't help him any better than an OTC, but I used up the rest of the bottle and it worked better for me than anything I've ever used. (It has since gone off the market.) I used to think about asking my doctor for Celebrex, which is similar, but I do worry about side effects.

Aleve at 440 mg/2 pills is close to Naproxen at 500 mg. It is the same ingredients. I liked Aleve better than any other NSAID and I didn't like anything much stronger.

Yeah, after reading about many of them they don't sound so hot and can have even more side effects than OTC.
