This isn't exactly "homemade" - but I recently bought a big bottle of pure Vitamin E oil at the local drugstore and I've been putting it on my face, neck and hands (and sometimes my whole body) two or three times a day. I've already gotten several remarks about how great my skin looks all of a sudden. It really makes a huge difference, especially since I've recently moved from the very humid state of Florida to the extremely dry state of Colorado. My skin was getting so dry it was almost scaring me.

Another good thing for the face, hands, and the whole body is pure almond oil. You can get it at most grocery stores in the olive oil/cooking oil section.

I looked up almond oil as a skin care remedy and found this:

Almond oil is an excellent emollient (softening and soothing to the skin) and also helps the skin to balance water loss and absorption of moisture.

It is further a great moisturizer, suitable for all skin types, helps relieve irritation, inflammation and itching, and is greatly lubricating. Because the oil does not penetrate the skin overly quickly, it is a good massage medium to use to help spread the oil and essential oil mixture, while still allowing you time to do a good massage before it is absorbed by the skin.

Not only does almond oil help protect the surface of the skin, but it has great value, acting as an emollient, skin soother and softener, while conditioning the skin and promoting a clear young looking complexion. It also helps to relieve muscular aches and pains.

Almond oil is suitable for all skin types, but is especially good for dry or irritated skin.

Default grampa gilmans skincare

[quote=Bev560;1935282]I am happy that Grampa Gilman's Skin Care works so well for folks. In business for 18 years now I am the owner of Grampa's. I was checking web-sites for my product and I saw this site with a request for a recipe. Although Grampa's is a family recipe and not available I wish you well in making your own. But please know, that if you don't find time to make your own recipe, I will gladly ship to individuals anywhere in the continental US.

I love jojoba and emu oil. It's worth every penny of your investment. Buy Aloe Vera gel from GNC, it's great. Apply for an hour to all the hurting places, hands, face, and so on. Rinse later. Buy turmeric in wal mart, mix 1/4 tsp with whipping cream and apply to affected area, dry skin, acne....and enjoy all the compliments. Never invest in chemical balms, lotions, antiaging stuff again.

Amy.
