A few years ago I had a concussion and a severe case of the flu. Many test were performed and the doctor wanted to inform me that I had a cracked rib.
I was absolutely shocked at hearing this. I had slipped in the ice several weeks for months before, but I felt no pain, no bruising.
I was just thinking about this and wanted to know if this is even possible?
I have a set of ribs which has cracked cartilage between them. So when I stress that area I can feel popping in that area. I think it is healing slowly....do not know how it happened.
When I had my car accident, I didn't know I had -three- cracked ribs. But that was because my collarbone, leg, and arm hurt so bad the pain from that, overshadowed the pain of anything else. Once they pointed it out to me, I was like "oh - yeah that hurts too, now that you mention it. Thanks for filling me in. Farging baisteds."

It is possible and I cracked a rib sneezing before when my allergies were insane and I was very sick at the same time with head cold, sinus infection, infections in both ears, upper respiratory infection. I didn't realize it was cracked or feel any pain but at that point the tips of my hair hurt because I was so sick from the combination of things listed above.
