I've gained weight, and more recently I can't seem to get rid of this cold I have had for about a month. It's been severe about 2 times, now I'm back on the low end with just a runny nose that I can't seem to shake. Just been drinking a lot of green tea, like 3 cups a day, and not the cheap stuff either, organic green imported from Mercedez Benz of China.

Should I go see a doc? Haven't been in like 5 years....I'm 27.

Doctors can't cure colds. Unless you're getting obese, your weight gain is normal with age as the matoblism slows. You'll be watsing your time. There are countless natural ways to fight a cold.

A fool and his ailments of not seeing a doctor could lead to some serious trouble. At your age you should see a doctor at least once every 5 years just for a general check-up. Doctors can see or find things starting to happen before you feel or notice them There may be some underlying problems that you are not aware of.
Your cold symptoms could turn out to be some other cause, like allergies for example and your self treatment for the wrong thing is all for not.
It sure is cheap insurance to your health and welfare to get checked out. Could cost you more later on if ignored.

agree. I have a complete blood work-up done by my doctor once a year. In doing so a couple of things have been detected early and potential serious issues avoided.

Colds don't last a month. Whatever it is you have, it isn't a cold. You might have a suppressed immune system, and keep getting colds (as in, multiple). Or, you might have what's known as "walking pneumonia." Or you might have allergies. Or you might have a combination of things.

The answer to your question is yes. You should see a doc.

And it really doesn't matter how long it's been. If you went to the doc six months ago and got an all-clear release, the answer would still be yes.

Any time you have what you -think- is a cold, that doesn't go away after two weeks, you should see a doctor.

There is no cure to the common cold, however having a cold for a month is not common. You could easily have a secondary infection, such as a sinus infection, bronchitis etc. Since you haven't been to the doctor in 5 years, this might be a good time to go.

Yes, go see a doc. I would be wary of a cold that lasts for a while. Drinking green tea is good, but won't cure your cold, just help soothe your throat. What medicines are you taking? Are you getting enough sleep? When I had a rough cold, I stayed in bed all day and started getting better.

I'd go to the doctor if it has lasted that long and it's still bothering you. Could be an infection. Anyway you might be suffering needlessly so why not go.

There is nothing wrong with not seeing a doctor in 5 years.
When you can't deal with your problems, Then you go to the doctor.

Do you take Vitamin D3?
Do you take Vitamin C or eat lots of fresh fruit?
Other vitamins and minerals?

27 is Young!!!
Where do some of you get off saying you gain weight with age?
That is Not true!
I'm "aged/old", am still active and still weigh 110#.
