Too much water? I've always thought our bodies need at least 6-8 glasses per day?

B12 shots? This is new to me. I will see my neurologist on Oct 24th and let him
know about this condition. I'm still taking the Vit E, calicum, eating bananas and
drinking water; it's working.

Thank you all!

If your Neuro is reluctant to give you B12 shots, you can get sublingual B-12
at a Health Store, or at Walmart's, or order some from Tri-Vita or wonderlabs.com. I'm glad you've had some relief.
p.s. the B-12 shots are painful

B-12 shots are painful like an antibiotic shot in the arm? Now that hurts!

I went to the Neurologist and he suggested "Slow-Mag"
magnesium chloride pills from Walmart. Also, banana's - potasstium.
I told him about Vit E but he didn't comment and I'm still taking them
anyway.
Thought I would give you all the update in case anyone is having the
same troubles.

Thank you, 2goldens and everyone, for this thread!!!

I've was having realllly bad leg cramps for quite awhile when I was in about my third year of low carb eating. Welll, gained back most of the weight that took me years to lose, and I still have the leg cramps.

Early last month I had the monster cramp of all time. Most pain...lasted longer than any I've ever had. For the first time in my life (and I'm no spring chicken), I passed out. I posted about it on here at the time.

I have started eating the bananas every so often. Also, plain baked potatoes have quite a bit of potassium without as much fat as the bananas.

I should start taking the vitamins, and be more aware of the other stuff.

I'm seeing another PT for some other (as yet not understood) ailment, so I'm doing exercises every day. He was moving my leg in some sort of position, and the cramps started. I reallllly don't want to pass out again.

I felt almost embarrassed to call the doctor and say that I passed out after having a charlie horse.

I need to go check out that link that Franco posted!! Thanks again!

This might be a serious matter people just don't pass out from charlie horses.
You really do need to call the Dr's office.

Thanks for your concern, Miborn.

I did call the doctor and went in the next day. I had just been to see her two days before the incident. They did an EKG, and all looked well. I had a stress test done the end of September....again all seemed ok.

The doctor told me she feels it had more to do with hyperventilation/low blood pressure than anything truly serious.

There is something going on, but no professional seems to be able to classify it. sigh

Take a mgnesium supplement of about 65% rdv. My doctor recommended it and it works for me. If I forget to take it, they come back in my calves.
