I have a mild form of touretts and Im scared it will get worse. It already makes me second guess certain job opportunities. On bad months when it seems to really amp up, I have had to refrain from driving as much among other things. Does anyone know of a touretts specialist near me, or know of some things I could do to calm the ticks. All the ticks are in the facial region throat, eyes, and general face muscles. If I close my eyes I can carry a conversation seemlessly, but open eyes cause me to stutter and pause throughout the conversation. Any Ideas?

The terms are spelled "Tourettes" and "tics."

I think the poster has more to worry them than spelling... totally out of order.

The poster mentioned job opportunities. If he needs to include his disability on an application to get a hiring preference, he should at least spell it correctly. Not to mention if he ever put down that he had "ticks."

If you have health insurance, Botox is a recognized treatment for tics.

Some tics though affect the whole body, and not just a facial twitch...

Now who's being pedantic? OP said his face was the issue.
