My sister and wifes eyes have been burning like mine. We cant figure out why. My daughter who has asthma also had a lot of trouble breathing at school the last couple days also.

I'm in Tenn., so this may not apply, but my eyes have been burning for about three weeks. They actually get more red as the day goes on. I've never had this happen before!

I just had to reply, since I can't figure it out.

My eyes have been irritated on and off, too. Not really burning, but definitely something going on.
I thought it was the red tide--but that's been gone for awhile.
I've been smelling smoke now and then, but it can't be from SoCal.
It is a mystery.

it's been happening to me and a few other friends/co-workers here in nyc/northern nj. i don't have allergies or anything and suddenly i'm experiencing allergy like symptoms also. but for the most part my eyes are red and burning up every so often. i just started using a liquid eye gel called 'systane free'. it has no preservatives and it seems easier on the eyes. this is helping a lot.

it's as if there's something extra in our ny/nj air suddenly, more smog/smoke/pollution, possibly? i've never felt like this before either.

That's not good. From Jersey through Tennessee down to Florida.

By the way, my husband and co-workers are complaining about it, too.

I've been having the same problem. At first I thought it might be pink eye, but eventually it went away on it's own.

I sometimes think about all of us getting sick and it worries me. I don't mean to be paranoid, but I guess that's what the terrorists want.

For 2 months I've had the worst post-nasal drip and chest congestion. I've been on antibiotics 3 times and nothing helps. Neither does claritin or singular. My eyes are really red too. I have NEVER had anything like this.

My 4 year old daughter has all the same symptoms and wheezes at times. I've taken her to the doctor 3 times too. What is going on????

I live in St. Augustine about 20 mins. inland.
