In 2006 I began to have elevated liver enzymes for the AST and the ALT. my GI doc tested me for Hep a few times and i always tested negative. I don't have any risk factors for Hep and my doc thinks it's just from being overweight and having too much fat in the liver

recently being on Metformin for Diabetes and having lost 22 lbs since the fall has dropped one of the enzymes within the normal range. the other enzyme is slightly high but much better than before. also had the 2 hep injections awhile ago to protect the liver

within the past month or so i have been having episodes of nausea with no vomiting. i have always had this even before the fatty liver and Diabetes but now its constant. ive been told it could be anything from hyper/hypoglecemia, Diabetic gastroparesis, medication interactions, inner ear issues, etc

i also have been having constant irritation around the ear/throat area which leads me to cough. the cough isn't chronic but it feels more like a bad post nasal drip sometimes a gargle with hot water helps. this has been after i ran a lo grade fever with sinus pressure and ear irritation. the ears are itchy and if water gets in them or im sleep on them they get irritated and i can cough. my lungs have been clear as a doc listened to my chest

i had a blood test for hep/liver panel this am and next week am having an ultrasound of the lower abdomen to investigate the nausea and liver

i guess because of my report to my GI doc of weight loss, nausea, heartburn, and cough irritation my GI doc ordered those tests to check for possible hep

my question to the forum is does my cough (its only in response to ear and back of throat irritation) sound like a hep cough?

i don't have any jaundice and have plenty of color
