I'm with you. I have lived in Florida all my life. I am of Spanish heritage, bu thave naturally fair skin. I get some sun EVERY DAY and at age 65 have almost no wrinkles just a few fine lines and "dynamic" lines (when I smile, etc.) I have a very healthy lifestyle and my skin glows. People need sun and it is just a shame that so many are buying into the "no sun" lifestyle. We need it to thrive and for Vitamin D. It is NOT the sun that causes wrinkles, it is a toxic lifestyle. Suncreen causes WAAAAAy more damage than the sun.
Its fine to have an "opinion" but facts are facts....
Sun damage is THE LEADING CAUSE OF WRINKLES....that is a fact and no "opinion" or anecdotal "evidence" to the contrary will disprove that simple FACT
Also, feel free to back up your "opinion" that sunscreen causes more damage than the sun, since that is also utter nonsense..
"Exposure to ultraviolet (UV) light. Ultraviolet radiation, which speeds the natural aging process, is the primary cause of early wrinkling." Wrinkles Causes - Mayo Clinic

Sorry, but I stand by my statement. And what you are stating is only YOUR opinion, it is NOT a fact. I have many books on the subject. But you are free to believe what you like. As I said, I am 65, get a healthy dose of Florida sun each day and no wrinkles or damage. Ironically ALL the people I know who have had melanoma were pasty white, never got sun, and the melanoma in places sun never hit. There are plenty of articles around that show studies linking sunscreen to way more cancer than the sun as well. You can search yourself if you care, I don't care if you believe it or not. Have a great day! I myself enjoyed riding my bike by the bay under the sun today.
I call bull on this one. The entire reason that northern Europeans are able to make it through winter is their evolved ability to digest milk (lactose tolerance). It is a very successful adaptation, for it allows the intake of adequate dietary vitamin D.
It is those who do not have at least a couple of glasses of milk each day or take supplements, that really need to get it from the sun. Sure, you might see higher vit D deficiency rates in places where people get little sun - but tell me this, how much milk do those people drink?????
Even a tan indicates that skin damage has occurred.
Milk is FORTIFIED with vitamin D.
When Northern Europeans evolved fair skin, and a long-term tolerance for Lactose ... there were no industrial dairies fortifiying milk with vitamins of any kind.
Ironically, Vitamin D (which the human body processes from exposure to sunlight) sufficiency is likely one of the reason that northern europeans evolved lighter skin color:
I am certain that at some point they will find that just as people have genetic predispositions to other ailments, significant skin damage/wrinkling will also be found to have a genetic basis. Some people are just likely to "tolerate" sun damage better than others, and are thus less prone towards wrinkling, etc..
In the mean time, since no one knows who that is or what the genetic markers might be - sun screen is the most reputable way to try to prevent future skin damage.

No what I posted was FACT.....sun damage is THE LEADING cause of wrinkles, it isn't even debatable...
What you have posted, is once again "anecdotal evidence" i.e. ALL the people I know who had melanoma were pasty white etc.
Once again, unless you personally know every living person on earth and can extrapolate data from THAT sample your "anecdotal evidence" is worthless....
As a healthcare provider who actually gives people advice on these subjects for a living I don't have to do a search regarding sunscreen and cancer, again the FACTS are in.....sunscreen PREVENTS cancers doesn't cause them....any site that says different is alternative crap, feel free to link an actual "study" that shows a correlation between sunscreen use and cancer....there isn't one....
