I have read this in other articles. I think the usefulness depends on each individual, per the article. It's probably wise to test your urinary ph before indiscriminately using alkaline buffers. I have experimented with this, although not tested my urine. I alkalize by taking a lot of magnesium, and using lemon in all my water. I need some acid in my stomach for digestion, and too much baking soda (or other alkaline products) neutralizes the acid too much.
But thanks for posting, it is an interesting article and motivates me to get some ph strips to test with.
