Mixing cough syrup, Vicodin or Lipitor with cat litter is the new advice on getting rid of unused medications. Preferably used cat litter.

I toss them in the trash. Meds should not be disposed of in the sewer sytems. It adds more undesireabbles into the water systems.

We burn them. Wonder if that is a good way?? I worry about the problems with it getting into the water too. And in the trash there is always a possibility of a child getting it and it still seeps into the water through the landfill. If you take it back to the pharmacy they just throw it in the trash too. Burning them might get somethiing bad in the air---what does a person do???

Yeah, disposing of these pharmaceutical poisons is almost as hazadarous as disposing of nuke ler waste.
