So I had a burning sensation/slight pain/gas/bloating in my stomach last week. I was not really hungry and when I did eat I would burp a lot. This was after I ate a Bacon gouda cheese sandwich from starbucks. I went to see my GP and he asked me a bunch of questions and felt my stomach while lying down. He said I had a case of 'aggravated acid reflux' told me to take Prilosec every day for 14 days and try a bland diet. She said some foods can "set it off". I seem to recall having a similar episode 3-4 years ago when eating some pork carnitas.

Well, I am on day 5 of Prilosec and I'm much better. Ocassionaly, I will get a quick jab of stomach pain, but I am eating regularly and getting my appetite back. Bloating is much reduced.

Anyway, before this incident, I would always have this mild pain around my heart area. I really thought it was the onset of heart disease. I even went to a doctor and he checked me out blood/stress test, etc. I was ok. BTW, I'm not overweight and run regularly. I've been biking to work at least 1 day a week, too. 45YO.

Maybe the chest pain had something to do digestively (?). Also, this chest pain didn't happen right after meals. It happened in the mornings and in the middle of the day between meals. which is why I thought it was heart related not eating related.

Well, the Prilosec has made that chest pain disappear. Thoughts?

BTW, I don't take script meds regularly and try to avoid OTC stuff like Tylenol.
