It wasn't one of those moments when you get out of your chair and throw away all the "bad" food in your house - it was more a concerted effort to eat healthier and not replacing the cheese, butter, and so forth.

I don't miss the cheese or the butter - besides I've been using olive oil for many years. The next thing I have to work on is the sugar.

I don't eat processed foods, or foods high in calories and/or fats. I limit my caloric intake to 1200 calories per day and my fat intake to no more than 12 grams per day. On occasion I will have a piece of cake or something 'naughty' but in order to stay fit and trim and maintain my weight and health this is what I have to do. It's not really a chore because I've been doing this for such a long time now that it is the norm for me.

After my long walk today, I can't stop eating! I am so hungry all day long. I eat an apple and an hour later I want more food.

Have your cheese, but make it a low fat/low moisture/part skim cheese stick - and only have one because they contain 6-8 grams of fat.

I did have a little bit of cheese in my salad today. I'm not going to make drastic changes but I will start to be more conscious. I want to develop habits that I can maintain, so I'll reduce the fat slowly, which means I'll buy lowfat milk and yogurt from now on....

Greenie ........have you tried adding some protein to your snack. Maybe along with the apple have some slices of chicken breast i.e. the type sold in the deli and not the cooler shelf type. I'm like you in that eating carbs by themselves makes me binge for more where as when i eat some protein it curbs the hunger.

I think it's because yesterday I ate so little. I snack on nuts. And I had canned salmon and low-fat cottage cheese for lunch.

Also, work is boring today. When I want to avoid work, I start imagining I'm hungry...

The reason you might be hungry is because it doesn't seem you have as nearly as much fiber as you should in your daily diet. Fiber is what holds people over. Try a couple of pieces of whole grain bread or oatmeal or something. Don't forget that humans need fat. It's what helps keep our skin and hair healthy. I thought the fad of completely cutting out fad was left in the 90's

No shortage of fiber in my diet, trust me.

Years ago when I was trying to lose weight, I cut out ALL fat. I mean if I was eating a chicken breast, boneless/skinless, and there was a little piece of fat on it, no, I wouldn't eat it, no other fats either.

I got to the point of malaise and fatigue. I was almost passing out. As soon as I re-introduced some fats into my diet, things got better.

BTW. I am still losing weight, I am eating healthy meats, but not a whole lot, I was down to eating none, in the past, if you remember, and was worried about getting my protein in.

Doing well, if only to get the stress part gone.

My problem now: All of the reps keep bringing candy. before, I couldn't fathom it, when I couldn't eat the meat... now, I just love it.... Somebody STOP ME! LOL
