Treatment errors are common, finding someone in charge can seem impossible, and patients sometimes wind up sicker than when they arrived. And here's a tip: Try to avoid hospitals late at night and in July.

"Oops, wrong kidney."

In recent years, errors in treatment have become a serious problem for hospitals, ranging from operations on wrong body parts to medication mix-ups.

At least 1.5 million patients are harmed every year from being given the wrong drugs, according to the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences. That's an average of one person per U.S. hospital per day.

Mistakes are anything but uncommon.

People think doctors are gods, and they're not.

I agree...yes we need physicians but they are not trained to truely heal the body but to treat the symptoms with drugs.

It's the third leading cause of death as the term is called ''Iatrogenic'' or death by physician. (American Iatrogenic Association source)

That is SO true! They buy the big pharma's sales pitch and prescribe drugs without really knowing anything about them other that what that drug rep tells them.... You go back and complain about side effects and they tell you it's not that drug (because the drug rep tells them no side effects or such a small percentage have them).... but give you another one to off set those side effects and before you know it, you on taking some sort of pill all day long.

Doctors are being made fools out of by Big Pharma and NOT listening to the people they are treating.
