I see my cardiologist Friday for a stress test. I was told not to eat anything for 4 hours prior to the stress test which is at 1PM and to eat a light breakfast prior to 9AM. i called and asked the receptionist if i could take glucose gel if my sugar drops prior to the stress test (I will not take any metformin prior to the test) and she checked with the cardiologist. i was then told to see the cardiologist tomorrow with that concern(a heart sonogram was done last week)
curious, i know i will find out tomorrow if i can do that but do you think i can take glucose if my sugar drops too low prior to the stress test? what do you think?
i am seeing a cardiologist because i am supposed to have surgery for an umbilical hernia but my doc wants to check my heart before going for the procedure as i have symptoms that resemble panic attacks. she wants to make sure those symptoms aren't heart related
