You don't have to bath daily if you don't want to, you won't die or anything, but those body oils and dead skin cells will give you a particular odor within 24 hours that might make your presence among others intolerable. It just is what it is.
I usually shower at night & birdbath in the morning; unless I so something that warrants a midday shower.
I rarely take baths. If I do it's when my son is gone and I want to lounge in the tub and read...but I shower prior to filling the bathtub so I'm not sitting in dirty water
This! Love doing this. I finished a book just this week that I primarily read in the bath tub.
I love to shower. I shower twice a day. Before I met my partner, he showered every other day. To us women that is pretty gross, sorry! Now he showers everyday, sometimes twice with me.
I love a good, long bath, but now that I am older, retired and not on the go so much, I usually just jump in the tub about 3 or 4 times a week: yep, every other day is about how often. Of course I do water walking 3 times a week and do shower before getting in the pool, but I don't really do much washing off, just pretty much getting wet. I don't think it is all that gross to shower only every other day, depending on whether you wash certain parts of your body daily. In fact I had a doctor tell me one time, Americans are too clean. I don't know if that is really true or not.
I have to agree with RedJacket, I don't think your statement has any bases what so ever...
"basis"
Come on now, all I said was, "You don't have to bath daily if you don't want to, you won't die or anything, but those body oils and dead skin cells will give you a particular odor within 24 hours that might make your presence among others intolerable."
(I already said I should have used the phrase "less tolerable" or "unpleasant" instead of intolerable).
Surely you have had at least one occasion in your life to be within smelling distance of someone who had not bathed in 24 hours and noticed their more "earthy" or "gamy" scent?
Bacteria, fungi, dead skin cells and body oils that come up on the face and/or scalp in particular contribute to this less than fresh smell.
This isn't something I just "made up" - it happens.
About 5 times a week after any exercise! Best thing is having a cold shower in the morning to wake you up!
