My BF has 2 large patches of this kind of skin on his body. Cortizone cream has been tried without much success. He ha a dr appt, but not until Oct. Anyone know anything better?
He scratches so often to the point where the skin starts to bleed. I hate seeing him in such torture.
How miserable. If he has not tried it already, I would try benedryl cream, or Sarna. Your pharmacist might be able to recommend a good OTC cream too. And aloe is a great suggestion, cheap and easy to try.
Try arnica gel. I use one made by Boiron and it's good for lots of things like bug bites, assorted itches, bruises, sore muscles, etc. Amazon has it.
Also, it might be a yeast infection or fungus of some kind. Might try Lotrimin, it's over the counter as well. He probably should not use it on broken skin; check the instructions.
Try calendula (some kind of cream or tincture containing it). Check the helath food store or Whole Foods.
I have also had great success with...are you ready for this:
Toe Juice.
Yes, it's a real product and it cleared up my eczema. I get it at Walgreens in the foot care section, but use it mainly on my face. Google it. It has a website.
I use noxema. That helps me when I have itchy skin.
