Errors of the Past -- And What Hospitals Are Doing to Prevent Future Mishaps.

Wrong-side amputations. Patient mix-ups. Equipment left inside patients' bodies.

Fortunately, the chance of a serious mistake occurring during any given medical procedure is small. But these errors do happen -- and due to the sheer number of medical procedures that take place in the country every year, they add up. A report last April by the independent health care-ratings company HealthGrades found through Medicare hospitalization records that nearly 3 percent of patients in the nation's hospitals risk experiencing hospital errors.

They are still making major mistakes in believing what those drug reps tell them about thier new miracle drugs. They don't listen to their pateints when they report side effects and continue to prescribe drugs with no unique benifits but with serious side effects. They fail to investigate to see if this new version of a old drug is any better that the old one but costs the patient a lot more money. They continue to believe big pharma and not add up all those new drugs that have been recalled or had to have stiffer warnings. They have forgotten that "Do no harm" oath they took and they fail to realize big pharma is in it ONLY for the $$$$$ and are constantly making fools out of them..

I get so tired of seeing that constant stream of drug reps in those doctor offices, it is just to obvious what they are there for. I've seen them bring in trays of food, cakes, cookies and all sorts of gifts and the worst part is they do it right in front of the patients like we are not even there...
