My old 16 0z. plastic bottles from the 24/case Help is my question:

I try to re-use these bottles via re-fill them from my 5 gal water unit BUT they seem to get an Odor smell that I try to wash out, I know it's saliva.

Is there a better way, any suggestions ?

I would recycle them - they are made much thinner these days and likely degrade quicker. Just get a safe, reuseable bottle.

If you really, really need to reuse them, try filling them with a mix of white vinegar and water and letting them soak overnight.

But replacing them with a single, quality reusable bottle is a much better solution.
