I think it's because those women on that website are the ones who have to clean the bathroom and they complain about **** being everywhere, like on the floor and even onto the shower curtain, when their sons have friends over to visit.

All this seat and lid do is to prevent both from dropping down and slamming against the bowl. When one raises them to urinate, both stay up as usual. Then when one moves then down about an inch or two, they just don't drop like other toilet seats and lids do. The idea is for both to slowly come down without making noise.
