Hi, well got my results of this advanced test & my Lipoprotein A is 125 - very high! Not good for heart worries!
I'm an almost 54 yr old guy, & in great overall Cholesterol shape w/ (Total 123, HDL 67, LDL 49, Triglycerides 27). But also, I'm an over-absorber of Beta-Sitosterol at 189 (a measure of amount of sterols I absorb/re-absorb) just over the high risk mark of 180. Which means I don't eliminate plant sterols well, & thus save them via reabsorption/uptake back into my gut/bloodstream/body.
I'm to begin Niacin, add fish & fish oils & avoid lots of plant-based like Avocados, Olives & Olive oil, etc. (almost my whole diet as I'm semi-veg eating w/ just occasional fish). What a mess.
Anyone ever had Boston Heart Diagnostic Test done? A huge look at Cholesterol broken down way more that standard Cholesterol tests. Thanks to my great cardio doc I'm very happy he's this diligent w/ looking all things over, even if on 1st look my HDL & LDL & Overall Cholesterol look great, but the specific types of Cholesterol HDL, LDL, etc. matters too.
