Surely doctors, scientists know and understand the damage done to children by exposures to many chemicals both in the environment and in the home.. many cleaners, polishes, bleaches, air fresheners, household paints, varnishes etc all carry risks to us, more important on our childrens health and this should be stopped or more carefully regulated.. even your lovely Perfumes, can be as much of a hazzard to health.. please consider changing your cleaning routings around the house as there are too many childhood illnesses that might be caused or worsened by these things... Hum.... GMO largely involves pesticide activity, from within the plant, and it does not magically disappear at harvest. Wonder if they will examine that possible link? (Somehow, I doubt it. )
I don't think the use of pesticides, and chemicals all around us will ever die out soon OP. I do agree that doctors and scientists should, and probably DO know how bad they are for our children...artificial sweeteners are a good example of that, and known to cause cancers and all manner of other ailments.
I think about the only thing we can really do , is to refuse to buy the products that we know are harmful.
We have to read the ingredients, and avoid the synthetics and chemicals if we can.
It all boils down to looking after yourself, cause no one else is, or will.
You can't depend on anyone else to really care, except you and your own.

Artificial sweeteners are only "known" to cause cancers by the same illiterate crowd that believes vaccines are harmful....
