LittleDolphin, its just a long shot, but are you taking any other meds? My doctors couldnt figure it out, but when my other medications were switched, my BP went back to normal.
Thanks for asking, but the only med I take is for blood pressure. It's Lisinopril, an ACE. I do take a bunch of supplements, though. Going to stop them all and try the celery, high potassium, high magnesium and calcium way of eating to see if the HBP might be caused by a mineral deficiency--which, I read, is a common cause. Should be interesting to see.
And I'll not stop the blood pressure med without consulting with the doc.
Thought I'd ad to this thread - I never used to have high blood pressure (in fact in was always a little on the low side) - the last couple yrs. though it's been a tad high. Today I had a physical w/a Dr. for Social Security Disability (I have arthritis, fibrymyalgia, CFS, etc.) - anyway - he asked me about my reading, I said my Dr. has been keeping an eye on it - he suggested I contact her right way as he thinks I need to do something - it was 187/99 (I did send an email through the message system to her). I only weigh 105 so it obviously shouldn't be a weight issue. I try not to eat high salt foods although I do sometimes have canned soup because I'm just too tired to cook. I tend to drink more than I should I know (depression, a whole 'nother story) - anyway, thoughts? I have a friend who is just about my size and I know she has HBP and is on meds.
In my situation, high blood pressure is due to being in the doctor's office in the first place.
Once I leave the place, it starts to go down and is normal 120/75 or so, within an hour.
