About two months ago I started having dizziness spells. It only happens when I am at the computer, watching TV or playing with my phone. I am fine while driving, walking and doing other things. And it's on and off. My job involves the use of a computer at all times so needless to stay it is driving me crazy.

I am seeing my PCP in 2 weeks but I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this and what the cause was. I have had ringing in my ear for years but it lasts about 5 seconds and it goes away. It happens twice a month or so. It is very faint and doesn't bother me but the dizziness is recent and I am getting sick of it.

Thanks

So sorry you have been dealing with this, it's been part of my life for at least the past 14 years. When it got really bad was when I couldn't move because the room just wouldn't stop spinning at all for hours, at that some point I went to the emergency room, I've been on antivert ever since, which I take only when it gets bad, because that stuff put me down for the day. I've had my ears checked, brain scanned, you name it. No one thing to pin point things to but they want keep testing, I on the other had got tired of all the test. Aside from discovering seizure disorder, I take topamax for that, and sometimes fluid in the ears, I'm stuck with occasional ringing, balance, issues.

For many people these symptoms go away, lets hope you are one of those people. But I would strongly suggest you see your doctor soon as possible, your symptoms remind me more of my seizure issues anything with the eyes like certain types of eye stress and weird visual movements can prompt me to have a seizure, I can't watch movies in 3D.

Test yourself and see if going in big store's with bright lights to see if that bothers you.. It sounds like artificial lighting could be your problem..

Find a store with tile on the floor that is polished till it shines and florescent lights overhead. I have MAV (Migraine Associated vertigo) and that is my biggest problem.. I have to wear a baseball cap and dark glasses when I go shopping. Those lights also give me motion sickness and nausea.

I've certainly considered it, and now, even the doctor thinks that's my problem. Let the tests begin.

Get checked out by ENT doctor. Testing may include MRI of brain to rule out any acoustic neuromas. It could as simple as a infection-labyrinthitis...Good luck..

Are you taking any drugs/medications - Prescription, over-the-counter, illegal?

No. I don't take anything. I absolutely do NOT do drugs! I only take the occasional Ibuprofen when I have a headache. I saw my doctor last Friday and he referred me to a Physical Therapist, whom I will be seeing this Friday. He thinks the dizziness is due to a very mild concussion I suffered in May (which didn't even cross my mind until he looked at my medical records). My PCP thinks I have Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo. So we will see. I also went to the eye doctor and was prescribed glasses because my vision isn't as good as it used to be.

Wish me luck. This whole thing is driving me crazy.

Best solution for Meniers is a diuretic and Dramamine. Dramamine for vertigo and nausea, the diuretic to reduce the ear fluid. No magic pill
