Ringworm, like athlete's foot and jock itch, is a fungi. Fungi need moisture. Water of any kind is a yummy treat for fungi.

You may need prescription treatment if the over-the-counter stuff keeps failing.

It's not effective at all. Stop trying to treat it yourself and go see a doctor. You have to remember it can weeks of treatment to resolve ringworm...so you need to be using these products several times a day, ever day for possibly 8 weeks. It's a fungus...and it doesn't go away easily.

Do you know where you got the ringworm? I got mine years ago from our cat. We treated the cat and me. Are you sure you aren't getting reinfected?

i'm sure i'm getting reinfected but not sure by what. i think it's my bed sheet, blanket, and bath towel. i tried bleach with my normal wash and ended up with bleach stains on my colored clothes. is there a special way to get rid of ringworm on clothes? my last job was in aquaculture, so i think i got it there. thanks for the post, AnywhereElse.

I use a lot of home remedies so I did some reading and you might benefit from going through this page and pay particular attention to the post where the person says that it wasn't ringworm since the little red spots doesn't fit what I had on my arms from the poor cat: Ringworm Home Remedies If it continues, you will need to see a professional to make sure what you are dealing with. Hope you get it cleared up. It was SO itchy! Years later we adopted a puppy that had mange which translated to scabies for a person, me. Scabies is also making a big comeback.
