Oh my.... I slept 8 hours last night! How do I take back that extra hour of sleep?

Maybe I'll sleep 6 hours tonight, then that will even things out...

I don't care what the studies say. If I don't get 8.5 hours, I don't function at 100%.

Mine varies. Sometimes I feel fine with only 5 hours sleep, other times I feel I may need 9 hours, it just depends on my activity level.

True....I prefer 6 hours + a 1.5 to 2 hour nap on my days off. Otherwise, get what I can, like most people.

and tomorrows study will say 10 isn't enough. What is enough is based on your metabolism and how you feel, plus how active you are. None of these studies are worth much. I know for me: give me 8 or a little more of sound sleep, not waking up all night I am fine, give me 9 hours with a couple of potty trips and I am fine Normally I go to sleep around 9pm or even a little earlier and am awake right about 5am. Hubby about 9:30 to 10 and he usually is up about 6, If your life style will allow it: I recommend you just go to bed when you want and see how many hours you sleep before you feel like getting up. Our body is a better guide than any study could ever be.

I'm blessed to be able to go to bed when I want and get up when I want (most of the time). My "need" varies from 7-9 hours. I don't care what the studies say.

Of course, with fibromyalgia, I'm also blessed to be able to sleep at all, from what I've read about how others suffer.
