My brother has been diagnosed with cerebral atrophy, has anyone dealt with this before? There has been many problems the past few months with his behavior due to the reasons above. He graduated community college at 19 always had honor roll and never had any signs of this. Any advice would be appreciated.

Oh my. How old is he now? Is there more information as to why his brain is shrinking? I had an MRI a couple years ago that said I had lost brain volume, but it was pretty normal for old people. Is your brother old? Is there more to this diagnosis that you maybe don't know?

He is 22. The place he is at will not share information with me only what they tell my parents. I hope that there isn't more.

I wonder if your brother may be suffering from the newly discovered type of Diabetes, which starves the brain of energy . . .

Dr. Mary Newport, M.D., published a study in 2008, documenting her successes in treating her husband's brain degeneration with coconut oil.

"...Our cells can use ketone bodies as an alternative fuel when glucose is not available. Brain cells, specifically neurons, are very limited, more limited than other cells, in what kinds of fuel they can use to function and to stay alive. Normally, they require glucose (sugar), but they can also use ketone bodies...."
("What If There was a Cure for Alzheimer's and No One Knew?")

They are calling Dementia & Alzheimer's a newly recognized type of Diabetes, which only affects (actually, it starves) the brain, and, the ketones from ingesting Coconut oil substitute extremely well for the carbohydrates that such brains are unable to put to use.

You may want to research how adding Coconut oil to the diets of several people with Dementia & Alzheimer's --both being brain atrophy-- has reversed their symptoms, and, share it with your parents & brother . . .

This is a list of videos on Youtube --from doctors to patients, & family of patients-- who have benefitted:

You can make candy with it, add it to any meal, cook & fry with it, etc. It doesn't have to be swallowed like a pill. I prefer my food to be highly spiced, more so with Coconut oil in it, because its taste gags me. But, it is worth it! My family takes it, and we give it to our dog, who whines if I forget her dose!

You may want to read about frontotemporal dementia - a form of brain atrophy. Unfortunately, I have dealt with it but don't feel comfortable sharing my experience on a public forum. So search that term and see if the symptoms are similar. I'm very sorry your family is having to deal with this.
