A week ago I woke up in the middle of the night with head pain on the back of the head. Thought nothing of it and figured it was my pillow. I kept changing out pillows for a few nights until the pain started hitting me in the day time, it passes then comes back. Not super bad but sometimes enough to take a pain killer which doesnt always work.
I still have it but it's not a pain that is with me all the time but when it hits its usually on the right side of my head back and over my ear and sometimes my forehead. My nuero is out because he had surgery and my pcp is worthless. To top it off I have to have dental work in the AM. Argh!!
What could be causing this and why wont it go away??
Is the dental work you are having on the same side? There is a good chance that it is related. Mention it to your dentist when you go tomorrow and see what he or she says. Hopefully, whatever you are having done tomorrow will end up resolving this paid as well.
Could also be a sinus problem. From what you describe, the forehead is primary for sinus, but I also have them over my ear, and in the back of my head. Are you congested? That doesn't really tell you if its a sinus problem though. Does an antihistamine help? There is a sinus cavity deep into the skull which, if clogged, can cause misery. Hope you find the cause.
I am having an MRI next week but the neuro gave me a cortisone injection in the back of my head and I am pain free now mostly. He said he thinks it could be neuralgia. I went to the dentist and he said I didn't have a cavity.
