After I turned 43 I'm unable to ski in the mountains I just can't catch my breath. For years we would take our annual ski trip to the same places altitudes are 9500-11500 feet high. I never had an issue until I turned 42-43 we just got back this week I was only able to do 2 runs and had to leave was so weak breathing so hard. I'm assuming it's just from being out of shape but could it be something wrong with my heart. My father had Heart stents in his 40's I have elevated cholesterol about 200 75% LDL. I think if I get into good shape I should be able to return to skiing. I'm concerned there is something else wrong here because I know others who have no issues they aren't in any better shape them me.

You need to see a doctor sir. Something could be wrong its not worth waiting with anything heart or breathing related.

Get a physical and heart check. Your doctor will be able to do tests and answer your questions.

If you're a woman, it could be anemia. I'm anemic and I tire quickly from even minor physical activity and get a rapid heartbeat.
