Old Fib Fracture (x-rays, pain, ankle, specialist)

Hiya folks am new to this game,Back in 88/89 l jump off a boat on to what l thought was soft sand, but it was hard rock. I got taken back onboard the warship l was on and told l Had a badly sprained ankle.
I was told to rest the legs for a few days and given pain killers and a pair of crutches. Years later my ankles started to give me grief, so l went to see my doc and he sent me to a specialist mainly because of the pain l was getting.
X-rays were taken and it showed that l had in the past had a broken fibula, which had repaired itself ish, l applied for help from the armed forces and got told that l had De-generate arthritis of both ankles and be cause of this they couldn't help me, so l have gone to a tribunal which is on Tuesday.
Can anyone help me with this.

What exactly are you asking for? Medical advice or legal advice?
Osteoarthritis is a separate issue from old fracture. They have nothing to do with each other. Sometimes increased weight load can worsen the progression of osteoarthritis but because you have it on both ankles and your old injury does not appear to be chronically debilitating that is not the case.
