NEVER....................EVER...............volunt eer information to a government Kleptocracy.
Well, I tend to agree with you there. But I got new prescription glasses after my cataract surgery, wear them for driving, so no need to report anything.
I had mono-vision lasik surgery in 2005. Before that my driver's license had an eyeglasses restriction. I carried the receipt for my lasik surgery in my wallet until it was time to renew my license kin person. My closeup eye failed the vision test and I explained to the tester that I'd had mono-vision surgery. I thought I might have to show her my lasik receipt but she didnt ask for any proof and she removed the glasses restriction from my license.
The only possibility of a problem I could think of is a scenario in which a person who has had cataract surgery and now has 20/20 vision. He no longer needs corrective lenses to drive, so is driving with no glasses but his license still says he requires corrective lenses. Say he gets stopped by a police officer, who notes he is not wearing glasses even though his license says he is required to do so when he drives. I'd say the officer might require some sort of proof that this person's vision has been corrected and he no longer needs those glasses. The information the guy's IOL cards from his cataract surgery will not provide that information.
??
I can't speak for other states but I live in Arkansas and the surgeon who performed my cataract surgery, i.e., inserted IOLs, assured me that the cards serve as proof I'm wearing corrective lenses.
Why would other states not accept them?

Well, maybe they will, then. I have to admit I hadn't been in that situation and had not thought about using those cards as proof one has corrective lenses.
Actually you do have corrective lenses....only they are implanted.
I just had my surgery this month.
I now have 20/20 vision but I am not going to say a word. I would just get a letter from the Dr and keep it in the glovebox.
Get Lens Restriction off Your license or Get New Glasses
I had cataract surgery and I have to get the lens restriction removed from my license if I want to drive without glasses. I failed the eye test at DMV miserably. They use a machine. It's one thing when you miss a letter but when you can't see anything but blank fields where there should be letters and on a second try you see some letters but they are in the wrong place it's frightening. I will see the optometrist. I have a form for her to fill out from Motor Vehicles. I will probably have to get some kind of glasses.
Apparently, I can't drive without them. I can't understand how I could fail the eye test like I did, unless I was not looking into the machine properly and my eyes were tricked. I just hope I don't have to take another test after the optometrist okays me to drive. I will probably have a hard time passing it even with glasses. My advice is not to drive without either getting the restriction removed or getting new glasses.

Bingo except I have the card about the corrective lenses implanted in each eye. Like you, I now have 20/20 vision. I love it by the way!
The only vision test we have is for peripheral vision. You look into a machine and raise your left hand or right hand to which side you see the flashing light. E-Z peasy.
