I love the comfort and relaxation of a candle burning. I do keep safety in mind as never to leave a candle unattended even if I'm going to the bathroom. The scented ones are my favorite. Is there any known health risks to have a candle burning several hours a day?

I try to buy the ones in the U.S. The ones from the dollar stores are most likely made from overseas and the materials used to make the candles is monitored differently in the U.S. making them potentially more harmful.

Bee's wax candles are probably safe (not to mention, they smell nice!) Unfortunately they are expensive.

They also cause a lot of house fires. People tend to forget they have them lit.

I guess if you like smelling candle smoke and inhaling the residue for indoor use go candles, however if its just about the ambiance of candle light there are plenty of electronic alternatives
