I love the comfort and relaxation of a candle burning. I do keep safety in mind as never to leave a candle unattended even if I'm going to the bathroom. The scented ones are my favorite. Is there any known health risks to have a candle burning several hours a day?

Are they soy? My brother is a big candle addict in his 900 sq ft condo and he buys that cheap brand from the dollar store..his walls are black from the soot..that is the biggest thing...I believe that is bad for you... breathing it all in...some certain soy scents give me a headache too...

I try to buy the ones in the U.S. The ones from the dollar stores are most likely made from overseas and the materials used to make the candles is monitored differently in the U.S. making them potentially more harmful.

When its warm enough outside, I do open the windows for ventilation
why bother then with horrible smelly things that are harming your health... ditch them all and open your windows... your harming your health as has been said...
I guess if you like smelling candle smoke and inhaling the residue for indoor use go candles, however if its just about the ambiance of candle light there are plenty of electronic alternatives https://www.google.ca/#safe=active&q=Electronic+candles
