I need glasses for driving and since I have no patience for looking for the pair that looks good on me, I look hideous in them. Haha I'm not going to wear contacts or get surgery when I don't need them the majority of the time.
I got lasik 12 years ago and now I am back to needing glasses or contacts, just wondering how my peers on this forum are as well.
I won't pay for lasiks for that reason, in fact with my nearsightedness and astigmatism, they cannot guaranttee I won't need reading glasses right back out of the starting gate.
So I will simply continue to wear glasses as I have for more than 2/3 of my life, no biggie.
Sorry guys this was supposed to be a poll but posted from a work computer and got some error message probably from the internet restrictions they have here, seems like a good 90% of us have eye problems though! Glad im not alone!
I wear glasses for nearsightedness. I would never consider LASIK, as my vision made me the person I am. I have an attention and appreciation for detail and texture that I would have never had with 'normal' vision, and that I find completely lacking in most farsighted people that I am close to.
I wore "coke bottle" glasses from the ages of 2 through 64, then had LASIX, still need reading glasses, but the benefits of the LASIX are most apparent when driving. Still haven't had the "must wear glasses/lenses" restriction taken off my drivers liense, but this hasn't caused a problem with a couple of police officers I've met since then.
Never had much interest in contact(less) lenses -- too expensive when I was younger, and too easy to lose.

due to astigmatism (sp) I wear one long distance/one close up contact (works for me!)--- I have glasses to correct this for nite driving. 30? 40? years ago when I went to soft contacts my peripheral (side) vision suddenly was there!!
not a good candidate for lasik DH had lasik -- didn't give him the vision of a 22 years old he expected!

I wear glasses, gave contacts a try for a year or so - NOT for me. Too invasive. Knowing what I know about botched LASIK surgery and the permanent nature of a botch, I would never consider it. I generally don't say "never", but in this case it applies.
I love my glasses! And prescription sunglasses!
