I pay a lot of attention to personal productivity. Even drawing up theories behind periods of high productivity vs low productivity.

Seems that many people instinctively seek one day of rest during the week. For me, this recharges my "batteries" and seems to do some "healing".

Have there been studies on the effects of a day of rest vs not taking periodic days of rest?

-and-

bodybuilding rest

-and-

Sorry but this has nothing to do with bodybuilding. General productivity and wellness as related to a periodic day of rest.

Really? That is news to me!

You read all that information in under an hour?

Note for those who care to read the information on the above links, there is a LOT of research as to work/rest which can be found by searching using those key search words above. A lot of the information covers a wide spectrum, not just bodybuilding.

For example the following was found using those search terms...
(Not much to do with bodybuilding!)

Deconditioning : the consequence of bed rest

The one day of rest is related to the bible mentioning you rest on the 7th day. Your body will tell you when to rest so to stay healthy and rested you heed the message your body tells you.
