Meniscal tears can't heal unless the tear involves the outer 1/3 of the cartilage which has a blood supply, the inner 2/3's where most tears occur does not have a blood supply so the cartilage CANNOT heal

There is also NO strong evidence that PRP injections can heal meniscal tears....evidence is not there
I think instead of the word "heal," I would say they can't be repaired for the reasons you listed. In addition there is an age factor, where the repair is less likely to be successful on someone above the age of 30 or so.

In YOUR world it's not there, but it's there. These tears can repair on their own, my daughter had one yrs ago and NEVER did any surgery. And PRP can work with these tears...surgery isn't needed for everything!!!!

MY world is the "real world" where as I already explained, meniscal tears do not have the capacity to "heal"'

Because someone doesn't have surgery for a meniscal tear doesn't mean the teat "healed"....it didn't....it just stopped hurting.

The only way to get meniscal tears to "heal" is to surgically repair them and even then the tear needs to involve the vascularized portion of the meniscus

PRP has been used in "conjunction with surgery"....used alone WITHOUT surgery.....again the evidence isn't there to support PRP for "healing meniscus tears"

You can rant all you want, doesn't change facts or biology....you are still wrong....and this isn't a matter of opinion....its biology....

Can A Meniscus Injury Heal?

Where exactly is this "Pharma World"...I might like to visit it some time

Here in the "REAL WORLD" biology rules...

I have pointed this out to you in the past but you should really, REALLY consider READING the links you post...

THIS comes from the link you just posted above...the very last paragraph in fact...

When you first started reading this you were likely reading to see if your tear could heal on its own — without the need for surgery. In a very small group of people that can happen. Meniscus tears that heal themselves tend to be traumatic tears which occur at the same time you tear your Anterior Cruciate Ligament, or ACL. Otherwise most tears will not heal unless they are sutured back together.

Yeah, so in other words EXACTLY what I have been stating on this thread and exactly the OPPOSITE of what you believe happens in your alternate reality....
