Achin' for bacon? Processed meats increase cancer risk, WHO says-
The report refers specifically to meat. The group defines processed meat as meat that "has been transformed through salting, curing, fermentation, smoking, or other processes to enhance flavor or improve preservation."
OK, so does this refer to other processed non-meat items? I'm referring specifically to fish, oysters, shrimp, etc. that have been smoked. The article goes on to say that non-processed red meat increases cancer risk too, but to a lesser degree. So we can infer that meat per se bears some but not all of the blame. But what about smoked seafood?
