That was an example of sarcasm; the second lowest form of humor I'm told.

I know this seems like a weird place for me to post this, but it is pertaining to someone in my life. I do not care to go into details, but just wondering opinions on "how much is too much"?

Thank you.
Well, when drinking Steel Reserve (8.1% alcohol) it's best to limit it to 1...2 makes waking up harder the next day...

My brother was a high functioning alcoholic. He held a job and rarely missed work. One day, my SIL asked him if he could just give up drinking. He told her that he could do that and switched to non-alcoholic beer. However, one day his MIL saw him buying beer and ratted him out to my SIL. Later on, SIL found the spot where he was hiding his empty bottles. She confronted him about it and told him to do what he wanted. So...it turned out that he couldn't just stop drinking.

ETA: He also paid very little attention to his child and his wife.

I can answer this easily. Take the AA questionnaire. You'll find out.

When you start drinking so much that you black out regularly, increase your notches on your bedpost tenfold within a span of 2 years, get a DUI, and start getting fat, you might want to start thinking about how you might be drinking too much. Uhhh, so I've heard.

It is just all so individual - for the past twenty years I have been consuming two - three glasses of wine per night, most nights. I am a tall woman, I work out every day and have good muscle tone. I also eat healthy and drink a lot of water. I enjoy my wine, I like the taste the the mild buzz. I am never and I mean NEVER drunk or tipsy, and never drink to where I feel sick. Alcohol becomes a problem if it interferes with one's life in any way.

OP asked what we thought was too much. In MY opinion, every night is too much. Those studies have nothing to do with my opinion. I personally have seen way too many alcoholics and too many people that have allowed alcohol to screw up their lives, so I have a different view that you do, perhaps.
