They give up their addiction to food. Only you can decide how much it is worth it to you to decrease the fluid. There is no quick trick, no magic pill - it I s hard work or give up and enjoy food.
I play bridge with 3 other ladies on Wed. Two of us are good weight and no edema. The other two are short and both about 100 lbs overweight. Our hostess does them no good by putting out sweets as this is the first things they go to. One scarfs up breads like it's her last supper. Both have edema legs/feet. The one woman has a daughter/sil who are doctors and the adult children have given up on their mother. People can change, but many will not. What do they say "we're our own worst enemy". I bite my tongue but I'd love to use toughlove, but it would do no good, it's their lives.
