I'm having an issue with water retention in the legs (Edima) Doctors prescription for water pills do nothing and his suggestion for putting legs up frequently does nothing.Pharmacist says it is probably related to my blood pressure medication so doctor changed me from Amlodipine to Apo-Doxazosin which has effected no change after a months usage.
Any one else solve their water retention problems without the use of diuretics?
Are you wearing compression stockings? That can help, if some of your problem is poor circulation....put them on BEFORE you get out of bed, for the best results!
Due to mobility issues theres no way i can get those types of stockings on, with the help of my wife she says theres no way we can get them on, even tried the XLL ones with zippers.
Sleeping with your legs elevated all night helps. I have a big foam wedge cushion that I put under my legs. It has a cover that won't slide off the bed and the cushion itself is extremely firm.

I've got some made of neoprene that have velcro straps. I'm trying to find the website for them....
This is them: Wound Care Wrap
I had to get fitted by a nurse. But you can easily put them on.
I think these are the ones that I have: http://www.biohorizonmedical.com/Med...ials_Lower-Leg
Amolodopine is notorious for fluid build up. It happened to me at about 30 days on this med. Updosing for a while got rid of the fluid. I'm taking the above antioxidant over 20 yrs.
I would find out EXACTLY WHY you are retaining fluid! It might not be the medication...it could be another underlying problem....get checked out! If one doctor won't look for the reason, find another doctor!

I've seen several doctors, had multiple tests, conclusion is a form of heart failure, their only advice is to lose weight.I've seen several dieticians but find my addiction to food combined with a sedentary lifestyle in retirement to be such that i cant stay on their rigorous diets.
I'm sure i'm not alone with issues of water retention and thought i'd throw out a hail Mary on what other people do
