In case you missed Mikala's point
You can't get kidney stones in your gallbladder....as in this thread is about "kidney stones" not "gallstones"
Gallstones vs kidney stones, different problems, different etiologies, different treatments...
Gallstones are NOT typically calcium based, they are cholesterol based
As for Tums causing gallstones.....maybe you should stop relying on Dr Google so much and be like your "friend" who trusted conventional MD's since they wouldn't make the diagnostic mistakes you frequently do by relying on search engines..

As for your "friend" having a portion of her thyroid removed due to calcium deposits....
Calcium deposits in the thyroid are associated with cancer of the thyroid and are an indication for further study such as biopsy or excision..
Calcium deposits of the thyroid are NOT from Tums....
So to review, your "friend" who "trusts" conventional MD's was apparently appropriately treated for 2 medical conditions that have NOTHING to do with Tums...
You, on the other hand, who frequently tries to diagnose and treat medical conditions online for yourself and others are O for 2 on correctly diagnosing the cause of 2 treatable conditions....
If you "friend" were like "you" "seeking information on health prevention issues" from questionable sites she might have mistakenly believed her thyroid issues were related to Tums and not sought appropriate care leading to potentially catastrophic outcome
