Test performed Dec 27, 2007. Upper GI w/ SBFT. Radiologist's report states transition time through small intestine of barium swallow to be 20 min. Norm for exam 1-3 Hours!!!
Patient presents with extreme chronic diarhea (3 1/2 months), 35-40 lbs weight loss.
Abdominal Ultrasound, Colonoscopy, blood work, fecal tests, all results negative or within normal range.
Gastroenterologist is stumped.......unaware of any possible cause for rapid transit through GI system.......symptoms persist after 4 months only "slightly moderated" by Donnatal.
Anyone aware of any research/studies in Radiological literature that mention small intestine "rapid transit time"???????
