Had a physical, Doc says my Vitamin D is way too low. Lack of sunlight cited...I work inside, go to the gym inside, to the mall/store inside and of course I'm inside at home. Doc says D deficiency is a common issue here because it's so hot people stay inside for months at a time. Causes fatigue, depressed mood, bones not strong

Whadda ya think about that?

All true, from what I've heard as well.

I was told this and am skeptical as I spend as much time in the sun as I can, I do NOT stay inside during the summer heat...I am out in it, drive a convertible, etc.

Maybe the Vitamin D pill manufacturers have a say in these results?

Ride your bicycle. Among the many benefits we can now add: prevents vitamin D deficiency.

LOL, and they say Seattleites are the ones with Vitamin D deficiency because of the lack of sun and the so-called Seasonal Affective Disorder. What a joke. Living in Phoenix is a catch-22 - either go out in the beloved sun and get your natural Vitamin D but risk heat stroke and skin cancer, or stay indoors during the summer where it's air-conditioned and more comfortable but risk the Vitamin D deficiency. Not very healthy to be a Phoenician any way you look at it.

A serious disorder people on the left coast have (especially in Seattle, Portland & San Fran) is Grey Cell deficiency -- aka: severely lacking Vitamin C (Conservatism). Speaking of unhealthy! There's the real joke.

Go outside more! Or, takes some pills. To be sure, in the summer time you probably don't want to spend much time lounging by the pool when it's 118 degrees. But ehat about the other nine months of the year?

i was told this as well - but it was contributed to not how much i spent outside, but how much the chemical makeup of our food has changed.

it would be interesting to see if someone who eats organically, or from their own garden/farm, has the same vitamin d issues.
