Pros and cons on Everything...one must decide for themselves.

I think back to a friend, who is now gone, she was forever spitting up mucus and phlegm, it was sickening. She drank cows milk.

Instead of spending a lot of money to push milk on the public, why didn't farmers ever cut back on production, and diversify? How hard is that?

Personally, I like some of the non-cow dairy products that have come onto the market: sheep cheese, sheep yogurt. I like those better than goat milk products.

Being lactose intolerant I avoid all dairy products. Probably a good thing because I love ice cream and I'd probably eat way too much of it.

BTW: those so-called lactose-free products are a joke.

The video is correct. Dairy products are a big business still subsidized heavily by the US Govt.

But I still LOVE milk. I drink about 2 glasses a day, and I love cheese and ice cream. I'm not sitting around thinking how good it is for my bones. I'm just thinking that it tastes good. I know I should drink more water but it just tastes so....blah.

There are at least 400 different types of French cheeses, and over 900 worldwide.
I intend to try a sample of each before I'm gone.

Because most people like their product as is and are happy to purchase and consume it?

I personally don't care for drinking milk, never have, but I figure that's me and has absolutely nothing to do with what others can and do enjoy drinking. I just don't get this whole "I chose my diet according to my preferences and everyone else is weird if they don't have exactly the same preferences and should change to suit mine" school of thought that is out there. To me, THAT is weird and unhealthy mentally.

Since when does "need" determine the bulk of what people do? Most people don't need to eat as many calories as they do, or eat as much sugar or eat as much meat or as much protein. People do what they want and don't find the need to be at all rational about it. People don't need to buy $50k cars or million dollar houses either, but they do.

This whole argument is just meant as a "should". If you want to judge people and think you're better than they are, fine...but there's not even much of a medical footing to stand on. And people kill themselves with what they eat every day - milk is just about the least of our worries.

Do we really need to consume so much dairy?

Do vegans and similar busybodies need to meddle so much in other people's personal lives?
